The World Bank has recently released its first ever report on Human Capital Index. India is placed at the 115th position on the report which ranked 157 countries on parameters like child mortality, health and education. Singapore took the top spot for its universal healthcare system, education exams results and life expectancy figures. It is followed by South Korea , Japan, Hong Kong and Finland. The finance Ministry has rejected the report saying that the Human Capital Index score for India does not reflect the key initiatives that are being taken for developing human capital in the country.
